Arnold Reece Corder, 83, died peacefully in his sleep on February 22, 2019. He was born in Tipton County TN on October 8, 1935 to the parents of Annie Gracie and Robert Fletcher Corder. He married the love of his life, Jimmie Kay Corder in 1956 and after 60 years of marriage, she preceded him in death.
He retired from the Army National Guard and was a meat cutter by trade. But his true passion was his music. Especially Gospel Quartet Music where he was a member of several quartets as well as choir director. He also introduced the joy of song to a multitude of kids that were part of our church family. Many of our Sundays were filled with a caravan of us driving to area churches for a good “ole fashioned” singing.
A wonderful and devoted Husband, Dad, Grandfather and Friend… One simple act of his kindness was when he would walk around our neighborhood during inclement weather and take the newspaper of our elderly neighbors to their door in order to avoid having them go outside. Goodness was just his nature and he lived it by example.
He is survived by his Son, Tim (Tracy) Corder and Grandson Michael Reece Corder all of Orlando FL.
Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, March 2nd at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Covington, TN. Visitation will be before the service in the Church Sanctuary from 9-10 AM. Interment will follow in Covington Memorial Gardens.
