Mrs. Beverly Rose Dumbreck, 88, passed away March 22, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital – Bartlett. She was born in Brighton, TN where she lived until she married and moved to Memphis.
She graduated from Byars Hall High School in 1948. Beverly excelled in high school making the Beta Honor Roll Club all four years. After graduation she was employed by the Naval Air Station and became secretary to the Navy Commander.
While working at the Naval Base she met the love of her life, who became her husband, George Dumbreck. Beverly retired after working for the Navy for 38 years.
Beverly is survived by her loving son, Greg Dumbreck of Memphis. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Dumbreck; her parents, Pearl and Elma Huffman Rose; and her 3 sisters, Verma Rose Billings, Truma Rose Ballard, and Merle Rose.
Beverly was a great cook and loved planning holiday meals. Her Burlison schoolmates have many memories of their early years of being envious of the home made lunches she brought to school to eat under the large shade trees.
Thank you God for a kind, loving, wife, mother, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her son Greg will remember her as his best friend and inspiration.
Visitation for Mrs. Dumbreck will be held Tuesday, March 26, from 5-8 PM at the Maley-Yarbrough Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday morning at 11 AM at Indian Creek Cemetery.
