Mrs. Emogene Black Ray, 88 of Covington, passed away on the morning of March 22, 2018. Mrs. Ray, the widow of Mr. William M. Ray, Jr., was the secretary for the City of Covington for 51 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Ray is survived by her sons, Bill (Mar) Ray and Tim Ray, both of Covington; her daughters, Vicki Creasy of Covington and Beverly (James) Chapman of Mason; her sister, Bettye Edwards of Millington; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by her brother, JC Black; her sister, Joanne Sherrod; and by her parents, John Calvin and Emma Jones Black.
The services for Mrs. Ray will be held on Friday, March 23, at 2PM at the Maley-Yarbrough Chapel. Visitation for Mrs. Ray will take place Thursday night from 5-7. Interment will follow in Covington Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dan Camp officiating.
