The City of Covington is mourning the loss of longtime City Attorney, Mr. T.D. Forrester. First appointed on April 26, 2005, T.D. Forrester served faithfully until his retirement in July, 2016. He first came to Covington in 1975 to engage in law practice with Attorney J. Houston Gordon. He later began his own practice in the Lindo Hotel building. Mr. Forrester was a member of the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, Tipton County Bar Association, the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, the American College of Trial Attorneys, and is a fellow of the Tennessee Bar Foundation.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Fortner Forrester of Covington; his daughters, Leah Keiser (Peter) of Dyersburg and Monnie Ruffin (Dan) of Covington; his son, Taylor Forrester of Knoxville; and his seven grandchildren, Colby Ruffin, Carson Ruffin, Walker Keiser, William Keiser, Harrison Forrester, Gray Forrester, and Andie Forrester. Mr. Forrester was preceded in death by his parents, T. D. and Dorothy O'Leary Forrester; and by his brother, Edward Forrester.
Visitation for Mr. Forrester will take place Wednesday night, January 1st, from 5:00 - 7:00, at the First Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 2nd, at 1:00 at the Church. Interment will follow in Covington Memorial Gardens.
