Annette Thornton Maxwell, 63, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020, in Memphis. Mrs. Maxwell was a member of Covington First United Methodist Church and was the Executive Director of the Exchange Club Carl Perkins Center of Lauderdale County. The wife of Charles Maxwell, she also leaves her sons Jeremy Maxwell of Nashville and Dabney (Chelsea) Maxwell of Covington; her mother Martha Shoaf Thornton of Covington; sisters Marsha Dabney of Jackson and Susan Thornton of Covington; grandchildren Mia Maxwell, Liv Maxwell, Rowan Maxwell, and Beckett Maxwell; and daughter-in-law Melanie Maxwell Brooks of Gallatin. She was preceded in death by her son, Dr. Zachary Maxwell; her father, L. C. Thornton, Jr.; and her brother, Mike Thornton.
Visitation for Mrs. Maxwell will be 1-3PM Wednesday, September 30, with graveside services officiated by Rev. Michael Pence at 3PM, all at Charleston Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Carl Perkins Center, 168 N. Main St., Ripley, TN 38063.
