Ashley Kishman, 31, of Dunn, NC passed in the family home on Sunday, August 2, 2020. She was a Special gift from above.
Ashley Shannon Kishman was born October 8, 1988 in Harnett County, NC to Roger H. and Virginia H. Kishman. She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia H. Kishman, maternal grandfather, William R. Hendrick, Jr., aunt Helen H. Cannady, paternal grandparents Almena Y. and Lester H. Kishman. Ashley loved her family and all types of animals, especially her beloved service dog, Harper.
She was thoughtful, kind, caring, loving and a gentle soul. She was intelligent, perceptive, unassuming and appreciative. It was common practice for Ashley to verbalize and show her love when with her family members.
She was a graduate and Valedictorian of her class at Gateway Christian Schools of Memphis, TN. She attended UT-Martin, Campbell University and University of Memphis. She was extremely knowledgeable and an avid reader. She had hoped to become a veterinarian and care for those that she knew so well and loved but a diagnosis of Stargardt Disease (Juvenile Macular Degeneration) impacted that goal.
She is survived by: her father, Roger H. Kishman her step-sister, Monica Jenkins (Jim), maternal grandmother Sue L. Hendrick and uncles, William Hendrick III (Sara) and Steve Cannady. Also surviving are: her nephews Camden and Trenton Jenkins, her cousins William R. Hendrick IV, Susan Elswick, Jennifer Davison, Sean Cannady, Cory Cannady, Holly Cannady, Karin Hoover, Drew Rathbun, Shelly Innes, Teri Howe, her cats Peaches and Biscuit and her dogs Laurent, Luna, Cas and Harper and a special friend Johnny Velasquez.
A brief Memorial Service will be held at Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home on Friday, August 21st, at 2:00 PM. Visitation will take place from 1:00 - 2:00 prior to the service starting. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
