On September 25th, 2022 Howard Clayton Beckett Jr. was met at the pearly gates of Heaven by his parents, the late Clayton Sr. and Dot Beckett. What a glorious reunion that was! To know Clayton was to love him. The word "protective" fit Clayton to the tee. He was a GREAT son, brother, dad and Pop. There is no doubt that the shining star in his life was precious little Dillion...not to take away from Hunter. Hunter will proudly tell you that his Dad was the world's GREATEST teacher and leader. Clayton showed Hunter how a Dad should love and raise his children. When he loved, he loved with all of his heart. It made you wonder how a heart that big could fit inside. He loved to ride motorcycles. If the sun was shining, you could count on seeing him out riding the roads. He was a heck of a mechanic, like a true man, he never needed directions. Clayton's true passion was fishing and hunting. He would tell you that nothing compared to those calm, still waters or that early morning field sitting in that deer stand. Teresa will tell you that Clayton made the best bbq bologna that you could find anywhere. When a family function was being held everyone wanted him to be the "grill master" in charge.
Clayton was a well-known member in the Covington community and surrounding areas. He worked at Pittman Glass Company, where he labored as a glazer. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Renee Maxwell. He leaves behind his son Hunter Beckett (Bonnie), precious granddaughter Dillion Beckett, sister Teresa Howard (Terry) and a host of other family members. The family is requesting that you bring your smiling face, memories, and happy heart to the memorial service. There will be a time for you to share those memories during the services.
Services will be held on October 23rd, 2022 at Maley-Yarbrough, with a visitation for family and friends from 1:00pm-3:00pm, and the Memorial Service to start at 3:00pm inside the chapel. Please continue to keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.
