Norman Glee HIckman passed away peacefully on January 18, 2022, at the age of 91, with his two daughters by his side. His family was always the most important thing in his life, and he loved each and every one of them to the very end.
Glee was born on November 6, 1930, in Albany, Kentucky, to Ed and Lula Hickman, one of eleven children. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and remained proud of his service his entire life. Rarely was he seen not wearing his Army Veteran cap.
On September 17, 1949, he married the love of his life, Margaret Louise Groce, and they remained at each other's side until her parting in 2016. He and Margaret moved to Memphis in 1964, where they raised their two daughters, Jan and Nancy; and one son, Tim. After his retirement from driving a truck for ANR, he and Margaret moved to Covington, Tennessee. They joined Clopton United Methodist Church and devoted their time volunteering at the HUB, a non-profit.... and spending time with their family. Glee was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, five brothers, and his wife of 66 yeaars, Margaret. He is survived by his daughters, Jan (Garry) Wheat of Bartlett, TN, Nancy (Kirby) Bennink of Kyle, TX; son Tim (Angela) of Lafayette, TN; grandchildren Chrissy (Sean), Karen, Jeremy (Chris), Shannon (Monica), Tim, Jr. (Jennifer), John (Kari), Baily, and Morgan;great-grandchildren Lauren, Abby, Samuel, Tim, III, Caitlyn, Oliver, and Aurora.
A private service will be held at the family's request. He will be laid to rest at Clopton United Methodist Cemetery. Arrangements will be handled by Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home. The family asks that any memorials be made to Clopton United Methodist Church, 5285 Brighton-Clopton Rd., Brighton, TN 38011.
