Howard Clayton Beckett, Sr., 88, member of Covington Assembly of God Church and retired brick mason, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022, in Covington. Mr. Beckett leaves his daughter Teresa (Terry) Howard of Covington; son Clayton Beckett, Jr. of Covington; sister Robbie (Dudley) Ervin of Millington; grandchildren Jason and Nick Howard, both of Burlison, Hunter Beckett of Covington, and Chelsea Maxwell of Covington; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Dorothy "Dot" Beckett; daughter Renee Maxwell; parents John L. and Mary Alice Hanks Beckett; and siblings J L Beckett, Herman Beckett, Bertha Lee Jones, Nellie Overton, Louise Thompson, Willie B. Glenn, Evaughn Byars, Hazel Adams, Robert Beckett, and Earl Beckett.
Visitation for Mr. Beckett will be Monday, February 28, from 11AM until services at 1PM, all at Covington Assembly of God Church. Interment will follow in Covington Memorial Gardens. The family asks that any memorials be made to Covington Assembly of God Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
