Martha Jane Pilkington, of Millington, TN, passed away suddenly on November 20, 2022. She was the kind of woman that never met a stranger. Martha could make anyone feel like they had known each other for years. She had a way with words. Martha was known for her karaoke singing, eight ball shot at pool, and her target shots at a game of darts. Needless to say, she was a force to be reckoned with when it came to her skills. Her best told story though was one of love. Martha was the one who introduced her daughter and son in law. She knew that they were a match made for each other, and she loved to brag on that story.
Martha was a daughter to the late James Monroe and Annie Shires, a sister to; Ricky Dale Pilkington, Vanessa Meadows, Theresa Smith, and the late Brenda Crider, a mother to; Sharon Messick (Jason) and the late Shelia King, a grandmother to; J.T. Messick and Sydney Messick, and a aunt to many nephews and nieces. Her favorite title was Momma and Granny. She would take you under her wing and love you like her own. There was nothing greater than family in Martha's eyes. She loved to live her life the way that she seen fit. She will be missed immensely by her family and friends. We ask that you continue to keep them in your thoughts in the coming days.
There will be a visitation held on Saturday, November 26th, 2022 from 10:00am - 11:00am in the chapel at Maley-Yarbrough with service to begin at 11:00am. The internment will take place at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Covington, TN.
