Morris Savage Turner, 98, farmer passed away October 30, 2020, at his residence. He was born February 9, 1922 in Covington to the late Jesse Washington and Glennie Bowden Turner. Mr. Turner retired from the US Navy, after serving in the Army Air Corps during WWII. The widower of Laurene Dawson Turner, he leaves his daughter Laura Ellen Turner Bostwick of New Albany, MS; daughter-in-law Barbara Turner of Burlison; son-in-law Jerry Buckley of Burlison; grandchildren Michael (Hope) Turner of Covington, Amy (Lynn) Jenkins of Union City, Rachel (Chuck) Bridges of Covington, Claire (Cheyne) Harris of Memphis, Laura (Colby) Baskin of Covington, and Liz (Paul) Turner of Covington; and ten great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Michael Turner; daughter Jan Claire Turner Buckley, and son-in-law Robert Henry Bostwick.
Graveside services with military honors will be 2PM Sunday, November 1, at Covington Memorial Gardens. Rev. Lee Ramsey will officiate. The family asks that any memorials be sent to a charity of the donors' choice.
