Obituary

Walter Thurmond Cross, Jr., 68, retired truck driver for RL Transports, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021, in Nashville.  The husband of Susan Smith Cross for 36 years, he also leaves sons Jesse Cross of Brighton, Chad (Amber Graham) Cross of Munford, and Chris (Dana) Cross of Dyersburg; daughters Kim (Brandon) Tucker of Munford, Tonda Aquilar of Dyersburg, and Angel Sims of Union City; sister Cindy (Johnny) Marvel of Ripley; brother Buck Cross of Covington; sixteen grandchidlren; and nine great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Thurmond and Frances Byrd Cross; sisters Matty Lou Hunt, Judy Tucker, Elizabeth "Bo" Cross, Mary Etheridge, and Betty Jean Tucker; brothers Billy, Tex, Leon, Tray, and Johnny Cross; and a great-granddaughter, JoJo Brudnicki.

Visitation for Mr. Cross will be Wednesday, February 3, from 12 Noon until services at 2PM, all at Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home, with interment following in Townsend Cemetery.  Rev. Terry Hunt will officiate.
