William Chester Woods

Obituary

William Chester Woods went home to be with the lord Thursday, June 9, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Covington, TN on September 2, 1939 to the late Dewitt and Gracie Woods. William was a supervisor for Schering Plough in Memphis, TN for 24 years. He was also a welder many years. William spent most of his time with his family and especially enjoyed getting to see his two great granddaughters; Heidi and Maddie grow up.

He was a proud member of Central Christian Church in Covington, TN where he was a Deacon, and Sunday School Superintendent.

William is preceded in death by his brother, Cleatus Woods.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen Louise Woods, His daughter, Stephanie Wright (Mike Wright), his Grandson, Brandon Elzie (Mary), his granddaughter, Brittany Elzie, his great granddaughters, Heidi Elizabeth and Maddie Grace Elzie, his twin Sister, Esther Dowd, and his sister,  Norma Boswell.

A visitation will be held at Maley Yarbrough Funeral Home on Monday, June 13th from 11:00am to 12:45pm. The funeral services will be private.
