Amber Coss Brummett

Amber Coss Brummett

Manager, Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

Amber joined Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home full time in February of 2022, to serve as the Funeral Home Manager.  She is a lifelong resident of Ripley, TN.  Amber’s desire to be in the Funeral Profession started while still in high school, she was a graduate of the Youth Leadership Lauderdale where she got connected with Garner Funeral Home and began working.  Amber graduated from Northwest Community College with a degree in mortuary science 2014. Upon graduation Amber went to work for Memphis Funeral Home serving Shelby County and the surrounding areas. Amber is privileged and honored to have the opportunity to serve alongside a very talented staff here at Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home and Covington Memorial Gardens. She is married to her husband, Dustin and they have two children, Everly Ann and Beckham Chance; as a family, they attend Covington First Baptist Church.

Barbara Dedmon

Barbara Dedmon

Office Administrator, Funeral Director and Preneed Agent

Barbara joined Maley Yarbrough staff in January of 2022. She brings with her seventeen years of experience in the funeral industry. She began her career as a

Preneed Agent and Family Service Counselor with Brownsville Funeral Home. After falling in love with the families she served, she went on to get her Funeral Director’s License. She is excited about serving the families of Covington and the surrounding counties.

Barbara was born and raised in nearby Brownsville and Haywood County.  She graduated from Haywood High School and attended Jackson State Community College. She owned and operated a business called the Sugar Palace, a cake, candy, gift and balloon shop serving Brownsville and Haywood County for 23 years. After selling the business she began her career in the funeral industry. She is a faithful member of Christ Church of Brownsville. Barbara enjoys reading, Tennessee Football and cooking for friends and family. She has a special place in her heart for Jack Russell terriers after rescuing three of them at different times through her life.  


Janie Hall

Greeter (Non-Licensed)

Janie Hall, born in Haywood County and raised in Tipton county lady who graduated from Covington High School. She came on board with Maley Yarbrough in 2017 as a hostess for our families. Along with being a hostess she assists in cemetery administration helping with  property sales  and transfers for Covington Memorial Gardens and marker sales.  Janie has worked in the banking industry for over ten years and in the medical industry for over 20 years as a medical biller, office manager and consultant. She has been married to Charlie Hall for 48 years,  she has a step daughter, two grandsons, and a great grandson. She loves spending time with her family and church family. Janie is a faithful member of Charleston Baptist Church, where she is a Sunday school teacher and the church treasurer.  She is also the secretary for the Charleston Volunteer Fire Department. Janie loves our families and always goes out of her way to help them.  


Dianne Kirkpatrick-Bishop

Apprentice Funeral Director and Apprentice Embalmer (Non-Licensed)

Dianne joined Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home full time in February of 2022.  She is currently attending Dallas Institute of Funeral Services, where she is majoring in becoming a dual licensed funeral director and embalmer.  She chose to do her apprenticeship locally because that is where her heart is.  Born and raised in the mid-south, Dianne moved to Ripley Tennessee in 2003.  She is a proud mother to three boys.  Being part of a local funeral home with a familiar face is very important to Dianne.  She understands during some of the hardest times that it helps having someone you know to be there along the way.  She is an active member in her community and enjoys lending a helping hand to all.  


Johnna Elizabeth Watkins

Apprentice Funeral Director (Non-Licensed)

Johnna began her career in funeral service working at Morgan Funeral Home in Arkansas, while in high school. She attended Northwest Mississippi Community College, and started working for Memphis Funeral Home serving Shelby County, in 2017. She is a member of First Pentecostal Church, in Union City. Johnna is currently attending school at Jefferson State Community College, and serving her apprenticeship at Maley-Yarbrough.  Johnna is a “local gal” that enjoys caring for her horse, Sugar, when she is not caring for families.  Johnna is proud to be a part of Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home. She has a giving heart and looking forward to serving Tipton County and surrounding areas.  


Jonathan Sorrell

Gravedigger/Caretaker

 

Jonathan Sorrell began working for Maley Yarbrough in July of 2000, hired by Martha and Landon Yarbrough.  He is our grave digger for Covington Memorial Gardens and surrounding cemeteries. He also installs our bronze markers. He was born and raised in Tipton county and graduated from Munford High School.  Jonathan never meets a stranger in Tipton County. He is married to Diana Russell Sorrell and has a daughter, Anna Sorrell. During his off time he loves to fish, grill out for family and friends and works in his gardens 


June & Sammy Beasley

June & Sammy Beasley

Greeters (Non-Licensed)

Sammy and June Beasley, are host and hostess for Maley Yarbrough Funeral Home for over eight years. They are life long residents of Tipton County and both graduates of Covington High School. They are active members of Liberty Baptist Church, Covington. They have three grown children and two wonderful grandchildren Sammy is a retired Firefighter/Fire Inspector for the City of Covington and also a retired Contractor/Builder at “B’s” Lumber & Hardware in Covington. June is a retired Dental Assistant and retired from her “In Home” childcare business. The Beasley’s in their spare time enjoy camping, fishing and are big supporters of the Covington Chargers.  

 


Tommy Baxter

Tommy Baxter

Funeral Assistant (Non-Licensed)

Tommy joined the staff of Maley Yarbrough in December of 2021. He brings with him 13 years of experience in the funeral industry.  He was born in Haywood County and grew up in the Tibbs Community. He was educated in the Haywood County School System and graduated from Haywood High School.

Tommy was a Tennessee State Trooper for 26 years assigned to Haywood and Fayette Counties in the Memphis District of the Highway Patrol. He retired from the THP in 2009.

He is married to Denita Thomas Baxter. He has two daughters: Meredith Baxter Cody and Kristen Baxter Etheridge, a stepson, Payton Jarratt and four grandsons.

Tommy and his wife, Denita attend Spring Hill Methodist Church and make their home in the KoKo Community in Haywood County. As a hobby Tommy enjoys working on Classic cars and attending car shows.
